In the summer of 1968, before starting at art school, I took a summer job with my friend Chris Scott. We were to be harvest boys, working on a local farm. We only stayed long enough to get some money for the holiday to Spain which we had booked earlier. Chris went on to Oxford University and became a doctor later.
